Blogroll vs. Backlinks in Article Content (WordPress)

I evaluated a competitor just ahead of me for Orange County SEO and discovered that most of the back links for the keyword came from one site and furthermore, from the blogroll, generating a large number of back links for the keyword. The weakness appeared to be that the software I used, SEO Spyglass, indicated that the link value was designated as zero, that’s right, 0. I don’t know how that assessment is reached but whatever the metric or the actual value, I have to agree that it was close. I wrote a few small articles on some of my blogs and this morning I had advanced ahead of that competitor with perhaps five new back links. That pretty well demonstrates the value of automatically generated links vs. contextual back links in article content, doesn’t it?

This would indicate that even in the context of this article, that has little to do with real estate, a back link to Palm Beach Gardens homes for sale or PGA National homes for sale or Fullerton Homes for sale holds more value than a generated link for the same appearing in the blogroll with every article posted.

Rising to the top on Simple SEO for Video

My video trial run went pretty well for the Mirasol Homes for sale test. The basic link moved up to around #6 and stays there. I note that a competitor released about 12 blog posts, very short and lots of backlinks. Almost enough for a penalty, but for sure, enough to be mostly ignored.

I’d love to see that video thumbnail go back up on page one.

HeadSpace vs. All-In-One SEO Pack and Video SEO on Youtube

I have no scientific basis for this, or even a measured assessment. I just like All-In-One SEO a little better. That said, I’m leaving HeadSpace on this blog because, 1. I’m a little lazy and don’t want to do the work. 2. I’m still curious enough to eventually run some comparisons. This blog’s use is a little different, but I could start a series of similar posts and compare…

Oh and also, I really want that La Cresta homes video to get off position ten. Think I Can? We’ll see.

I’m actually having fun with the video thing- I like producing them and Keynote does some really fancy stuff right out of the gate.

Orange County wedding photographers is another topic for which I created some of those short videos and they’re doing fairly well in such a competitive environment.

Now if Google will just get busy and index this. SEO is always just a little unpredictable. It’s like Forest Gump- you never know what you’re gonna get…

    Real Estate SEO expert

I just realized that I’m on page one for real estate SEO experts but only on page four for real estate SEO expert. All that difference for one letter? This is what drives SEOs a little crazy. Google is a giant database, after all, and we have to end up putting up some pretty verbose stuff just to get the search to include something like a plural term. That’s why your back-links have to have a little randomness to them, so you don’t rank high for only one specific term when people naturally type in variations when they search. It doens’t take an SEO expert to remember to give a little variety to your content for better indexing.

    The La Cresta Video

This is the video for the La Cresta homes campaign. This home is on a hilltop ten acre site. Panoramic views of the Temecula Valley and city lights are unbelievable. Privacy, secluded access with custom features throughout make this home one of a kind.
