Blogroll vs. Backlinks in Article Content (WordPress)
I evaluated a competitor just ahead of me for Orange County SEO and discovered that most of the back links for the keyword came from one site and furthermore, from the blogroll, generating a large number of back links for the keyword. The weakness appeared to be that the software I used, SEO Spyglass, indicated that the link value was designated as zero, that’s right, 0. I don’t know how that assessment is reached but whatever the metric or the actual value, I have to agree that it was close. I wrote a few small articles on some of my blogs and this morning I had advanced ahead of that competitor with perhaps five new back links. That pretty well demonstrates the value of automatically generated links vs. contextual back links in article content, doesn’t it?
This would indicate that even in the context of this article, that has little to do with real estate, a back link to Palm Beach Gardens homes for sale or PGA National homes for sale or Fullerton Homes for sale holds more value than a generated link for the same appearing in the blogroll with every article posted.
